DHL's logistics hub in Minworth, Birmingham

Logistics firm DHL eCommerce has opened its new facility in Birmingham.

The company, which specialises in e-commerce and is part of the global DHL Group, has launched the depot in Minworth which will increase handling capacity by 50 per cent and service more than 80 routes and a further 30 during peak season.

The refurbished facility covers 104,400 sq ft and has 13 electric vehicle charging points and integrated rainwater harvesting system to reduce water consumption.

Stuart Hill, chief executive of DHL eCommerce º£½ÇÊÓƵ, said: "We are thrilled to announce the opening of this new depot in Birmingham.

"As demand continues to grow across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, having a strategic location in the Midlands that connects us to even more customers is crucial.

"The location coupled with the sustainability credentials of the new site means we will serve more customers, more efficiently and more sustainably."

The new site forms part of DHL eCommerce's £480 million investment in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ announced in 2022 and follows the opening of its new 269,000 sq ft in Coventry earlier this year.
