A Devon pub - which is the only one in South Tawton - is to be turned into a bed and breakfast.

The Seven Stars Inn, a traditional inn located in the picturesque village in Devon, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Situated in the heart of the village, the pub occupies a beautiful stone built building of impressive appearance and stature, which dates back to the 17th century.

The former owner had previously operated the pub and more recently, the pub had been leased, but due to the recent departure of the lessee, the owner decided to sell the freehold business.

Recently closed, the Seven Stars Inn presented a fantastic opportunity for a new owner to reopen the hub of the village and restore the Seven Stars Inn to its former glory.

New owners, Colin and Natasha Netherway will be moving from North Devon and are going to open the business as a bed & breakfast.

They have several other exciting ideas for the pub and want to include the local community in their plans as much as possible, as well as attracting visitors from the neighbouring villages.

Mr Netherway said: “Both myself and my partner are very excited for this new venture we have taken on. We were made to feel very welcome by quite a few of the local villagers. We will have a restaurant, bar and rooms in the future and will invite everyone to come and celebrate once we are ready to open our doors.”
