A Devon company born from research conducted by three PhD students at the University of Exeter 18 years ago has moved offices following its expansion.
Calmfloor, which has developed tech to address building vibration issues, has moved into workspace at the Exeter Science Park Centre after outgrowing its previous premises. Its plug-in units are manufactured in Colyton in East Devon.
The business is planning to open a New York office in April, following a surge in demand in the United States.

Steven Senior, chief operating officer at Calmfloor, said: “We are delighted to open our new office at Exeter Science Park. Demand for our product has never been higher, and as the company grows, we needed a flexible space that could grow with us—something that Exeter Science Park offers.
“Location was also key. With our expanding team, accessibility was a priority, and we had outgrown our previous space. The excellent transport links, including proximity to the M5 and the airport, were major factors in our decision.”
Jason Buck, senior business development manager at Exeter Science Park, added: “We’re pleased to welcome Calmfloor to our growing community. This is an exciting time for them, and we are committed to supporting their continued success."
The announcement comes a month after a Devon technology firm that provides software to the fashion, retail and leisure sector confirmed its relocation to the business park.
