CPMG Architects moves a new Nottingham headquarters

Property dates back to 1870s when it was British Waterways Company HQ, before becoming Standard Chartered Bank

Nottingham based architects CPMG have relocated to a new home on St Peter's Gate

CPMG Architects has moved into a new headquarters in Nottingham city centre.

The Grade II listed three-storey building in St. Peter’s Gate, overlooking St. Peter’s Church underwent a big refit prior to the firm relocating from its previous offices in the city.

The property dates back to the 1870s when it was the headquarters of the British Waterways Company, later becoming the Standard Chartered Bank.

More recently it was used by several bars before sitting vacant for almost three years.

CPMG, which also has offices in London, Birmingham and China, works in the public and private sectors, designing anything from offices, libraries, schools and university blocks to health centres, including the Dunelm head office just outside Leicester.

CPMG is currently working on The Island Quarter, in Nottingham, which is one of the biggest regeneration projects of its kind in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, as well as healthcare projects for the Queen’s Medical Centre and a major new student residential and co-living development on a main arterial route into the city.

Managing director Richard Flisher said: “We are proud of our Nottingham heritage and have been based in the Lace Market for more than three decades.

“This move is a vote of confidence in our home city and in the future vitality of the city centre and brings a brilliant building back into full use.
