A Cornwall-based group of self-catering holiday letting agencies has opened a new headquarters following a £2.5m investment.

Sapphire Holidays, a family-owned business, has moved into Onyx House on the Hayle Business Park.

The project has seen the company repurpose a former industrial building into new workspace for three of its brands and around 60 of its 200-plus staff.

Classic Cottages occupies the ground floor of Onyx House, while Boutique Retreats and Unique Hideaways are based on the mezzanine level.

Nearby Sapphire House, which the group built in 2020, continues to house Aspects Holidays alongside group support functions such as HR, IT and accounts.

The new building has solar rooftop panels and a bank of batteries, as well as ground-source heating. It also uses rainwater harvesting, and has eight electric vehicle charging points in its car park, which has been planted as a wildflower meadow.

Simon Tregonning, owner and chairman of Sapphire Holidays, officially opened the new offices in front of more than 100 invited guests.

He said: “As a long-established and family-owned group of businesses, this investment reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainable growth.
