Construction starts on Webasto £1.2m warehouse extension

Conflict over noise resolved as automotive supplier looks ahead to Minworth expansion

Construction of a £1.2 million industrial unit extension for global automotive suppliers Webasto is underway.

The project is intended to streamline deliveries and reduce noise levels at the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ sunroof plant on Kingsbury Business Park, in Minworth.

Centurion Properties and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Property Trust gave the scheme the go ahead following the successful exchange of an agreement for lease with Webasto on two units totalling 105,074 sq ft.

Webasto, which is headquartered in Stockdorf near Munich, has signed two new reversionary leases on the units which extend its occupation on the business park to June 2025.

The project is expected to take 22 weeks to complete and will provide Webasto with a new 22,500 sq ft fully enclosed canopy extension with acoustic wall to the rear yard area of one of the units close to the residential area of Sutton Square.

The project has been the subject of lengthy consultations with local residents and the planning authority.
