Cheshire industrial park that created hundreds of jobs expands ahead of schedule after phase one success

Work has begun on the second phase of a "substantial" new industrial park in Cheshire to meet demand from the manufacturing and logistics sectors.

The agents for Phase One of Cheshire Green Industrial Park in Wardle, Nantwich, say the scheme has almost sold out, with some 300 jobs being created. Plots of up to 10,000 sq ft have been developed and are now occupied by businesses in the industrial and logistics sectors.

The success of the 50-acre Phase One led to the building of an estate road and infrastructure works which has brought forward a further 50 acres for Phase Two. That second phase will include plots from two acres up to 22 acres, allowing for design and build packages for bespoke units from 10,000 sq ft up to 400,000 sq ft.

Phase One of the park received funding from the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, while Phase Two has received support from the Evergreen Growth Fund. Phase Two is being marketed by property firms Fisher German and Legat Owen.

David Newman, partner at Fisher German, said: “We divided Phase One into plots from two to 20 acres and it is nearly sold out which highlights the demand from the industrial sector in Cheshire and the surrounding areas as a location for manufacturing and logistics businesses.

“A new infrastructure road has now been completed which links Phase One and Phase Two and creates another 50 acres for industrial development. These enabling works were completed by contractors Jones Bros, who worked on Phase One as well.

“This means the estate road will go the whole way through Phase Two and will give occupiers full access to all the drainage, infrastructure and energy services that they will need from their units.

“It is fantastic news that this work has been completed and follows on from the success of Phase One where the flexible industrial units are now nearly all let.”
