Property consultancy CBRE has boosted its planning and development team in Birmingham with the appointment of Jon Wood as senior director.

Mr Wood has joined the firm from Homes England where he was a senior manager for the markets, partners and places directorate, with a regional focus on partnerships and accelerating new housing.

Prior to this, he worked for Commercial Estates Group as an area manager in development and land and housebuilder Redrow where he was a senior planning manager.

His appointment is the third successive senior appointment within CBRE's planning and development team within the last six months, with Andrew Round joining as senior director of economic development and Louise Wyman as executive director of strategic development.

CBRE has also appointed Jack Jones as associate director in its Birmingham residential land and development team.

He previously worked at Knight Frank in the city for more than seven years, most recently as an associate in residential development, focusing on the disposal and acquisition of residential development sites across the Midlands region.

Ashley Hancox, CBRE executive director in the Midlands, said: "We are continuing to build a market-leading planning and development team and Jon's arrival, with his considerable experience in the residential sector, strengthens our skills and expertise in this growing area of the business.
