Property consultancy CBRE has boosted its planning and development team in Birmingham with the appointment of Jon Wood as senior director.
Mr Wood has joined the firm from Homes England where he was a senior manager for the markets, partners and places directorate, with a regional focus on partnerships and accelerating new housing.
Prior to this, he worked for Commercial Estates Group as an area manager in development and land and housebuilder Redrow where he was a senior planning manager.
His appointment is the third successive senior appointment within CBRE's planning and development team within the last six months, with Andrew Round joining as senior director of economic development and Louise Wyman as executive director of strategic development.
CBRE has also appointed Jack Jones as associate director in its Birmingham residential land and development team.

He previously worked at Knight Frank in the city for more than seven years, most recently as an associate in residential development, focusing on the disposal and acquisition of residential development sites across the Midlands region.

In other property appointment news, an experienced finance specialist has joined Birmingham-based Principle Estate Management as a service charge accountant.
Aaron Neath has moved to Principle after spending three-and-a-half years with the SDL Group.
He has spent more than four years in the finance sector and has previously worked at Haines Watts Birmingham and SLP Accountants.
Birmingham-based Godwin Developments has bolstered its team in the city by recruiting Steven Gascoyne as associate director of construction.
His career spans 25 years working in a wide range of sectors including residential, leisure and industrial.
He will assume responsibility for some of Godwin's largest construction projects across the country, working closely with its in-house teams and external property partners from its Birmingham office.

Prior to joining Godwin, he worked as operations director of Mace where he was part of their cost and commercial practice group, leading a team of 25 quantity surveyors and being responsible for the Birmingham office's cost management offer.
Warwick-based land developer L&Q Estates has appointed Kathryn Hemingway and Jonny Dodd as associate land directors while Natasha Brand has been promoted to senior strategic land manager.
Ms Hemingway started her career by joining the graduate training programme at Cushman & Wakefield in Birmingham before moving to IM Land in Solihull to focus on strategic land where she worked across the country until securing her new role at L&Q Estates.
Mr Dodd will have responsibility for the South West which is an area he knows extremely well having begun his property career over 23 years ago.
During this time, he has worked in a wide variety of residential agency and development roles.
Ms Brand has been promoted from strategic land manager after moving to L&Q Estates from Future Land in the South West in 2018 and she will have responsibility for the South East of England.
Stratford consultancy Marrons Planning has appointed senior planner Reiss Sadler.
With more than seven years' experience working with Wychavon District Council in Worcestershire as a senior planning officer, the move to Marrons Planning will see him support house builders, land promoters and landowners in the area to secure planning permission for key developments.
He has a vast knowledge of planning policy, specialising in residential development, housing land supply, site appraisal and promotion.
Property consultancy Avison Young has appointed Gary Imrie as a principal in its Birmingham office.
He has been with the company's property management team for a year following nearly two decades of experience in the industry and specialises in evolving accounting and operational systems.
He joins a team of more than 650 principals across the consultancy's global office network.
Colin Lewis, the former chief executive of Avant Homes, has joined Solihull-based housebuilder Piper Homes in the newly created role of non-executive chairman.
Mr Lewis left Avant in 2021 after 11 years of service, including seven as chief executive, following a sale of the business.
