Carillion wins brief for first Paradise building

Wolverhampton-based Carillion has won the brief to construct One Chamberlain Square on the site of Central Library which

The final stages of demolition are now which closed in 2013, and replace it with new office blocks aimed squarely at the city's growing corporate market.

One Chamberlain Square is due for completion in autumn 2018 ready for 1,400 PwC staff to occupy four and half floors of the seven-storey building from early 2019.

The wider Paradise project will eventually comprise eight new office buildings, a hotel and public realm.

Chris Taylor, head of private markets at Hermes which is managing the funding of the scheme, said: "As part of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's biggest enterprise zone, Paradise is delivering the next generation of office space for Birmingham as well as protecting and enhancing the cultural heart of the city.

"The significant investment being made in Paradise is a testament to the region's increasing competitive profile in the international marketplace and the growing demand of businesses looking to relocate to the region.
