An office building in the heart of Birmingham's business district has been bought.

Solihull-based EDG Property has acquired 126 Colmore Row in an undisclosed deal and is now planning to carry out refurbishment work.

The building is home to tenants such as Jamaya Restaurants, investment consultancy Walker Crips and the organisers of Birmingham's famous Christmas Market.

EDG has appointed BNP Paribas Real Estate as letting agency for the available office suites and communal areas and individual office suites will now be upgraded.

Neil Edginton, director of EDG Property, said the deal would see the property become an even more attractive proposition for potential new tenants.

He said: "Birmingham's central business district is home to many major businesses and leading brands and we're excited to invest here as EDG grows its nationwide portfolio.

"This property's prestigious address and unrivalled views make it a rare find in today's market.
