A deal has been secured which will see a national builders’ merchant take space at an East Midlands business park.

MKM Building Supplies, which is headquartered in Hull, has agreed a lease for a 19,100 sq ft stand-alone unit at Centrix Park, in Corby, Northamptonshire.

MKM is the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s largest independent builders’ merchant, with over 70 branches across England and Scotland.

Its new Centrix Park site boasts a large open plan warehouse, trade counter and office space to the ground floor.

The developer behind the new business park is Derbyshire-based Clowes Developments.

While the business park will continue to be built out and managed by Clowes, the unit MKM has taken has been sold in a separate deal to an investor for an undisclosed sum.

Andrew Pine, new branch development director at MKM Building Supplies, said: “Our unique business model allows us to react quickly to opportunities and expand in line with the company’s wider business objectives.

“The move to Corby presents great opportunities for MKM and the local area.
