A Bristol business that specialises in remodelling kitchens has expanded into a new workshop after demand saw its sales double year on year.

HUSK makes custom door fronts and premium worktops designed to work with Ikea or Howdens kitchen units.

The venture was founded in a small workshop in Montpelier in 2018 by Dave Young and Ross Norgate, who also run an eponymous furniture-making business.

As well as residential customers HUSK has also found work contributing to projects for developers and homebuilders such as cabin manufacturer Out Of The Valley and the Water Lilies eco-housing scheme in Kingsweston.

The firm has now moved to a new 9,500 sq ft premises at the St Vincent's Trading Estate off Feeder Road In St Philip's.

HUSK said the new facility quadrupled the size of its workshop space, enabling it to invest in new machinery and flexibility to grow its team as required. The company added it would retain its original customer showroom in Station Road, Montpelier.

Mr Young, a director at HUSK, said: “It is hugely gratifying to see us move into these new premises in St Phillips, giving us the space and flexibility to grow.

“The warehouse was an empty shell so we have been able to create a bespoke workshop tailored to our needs that will give us the opportunity to create more ranges and grow the team. "
