An independent Bristol-based catering business has been chosen as the café operator for a new landmark city centre office development.
Double Puc Cafe will open at CEG's Crescent building in the heart of Bristol’s Temple Quarter later this year, selling specialty coffee and fresh food. It will be open to building tenants and the general public.
The café business has served as Ovo’s in-house partner since 2014, and will bring its signature brand to Crescent’s communal ground-floor café and social spaces.
In February, CEG announced that energy firm Ovo would become the development's first tenant, moving from its current HQ after more than a decade.
“We’re incredibly proud to be following Ovo Energy into Crescent,” said Griff Holland, co-founder of Double Puc Cafe.
“It’s a privilege to have supported their team with food and drink for the past 10 years, and even more exciting to continue that journey in a space as future-focused and inspiring as Crescent.
"We’re looking forward to welcoming tenants and the wider community with the warm, high-quality hospitality that Double Puc is known for.”
Crescent is CEG’s latest Bristol development, offering 100,000 sq ft of workspace. The building includes on-site fitness spaces, a private garden and dedicated cycle and wellness facilities.
Paul Richardson, investment manager at CEG, said: “Its great to welcome Double Puc Cafe to Crescent. The company’s strong Bristol roots provide a perfect fit as we were seeking a high quality, independent café brand in keeping with our vision of creating a thriving, healthy and productive community at Crescent.
"Double Puc’s focus on sustainability and community aligns perfectly with CEG’s values.”
CEG has managed the £30m transformation of Crescent, with Interaction now completing the shared space fit out.
The makeover includes a new two-storey feature façade, a rooftop extension and three private roof terraces, with views over Temple Gardens from the fifth floor.
It also has a cycle park for 164 bikes and a repair docking facility, wellbeing and fitness studio with leisure club changing facilities.
