Boutique bowling company Lane7 is expanding further across the North with a new planned opening in Leeds.

The County Durham company, which launched its very first site in Newcastle in 2011, is rolling into Trinity Leeds where it will transform the former Wilko store into a huge entertainment hub. The company has struck a partnership with landlords Landsec to convert the 23,000 sqft unit with space for ten-pin bowling, darts, pool tables, beer pong, private karaoke booths, retro and modern arcades.

Lane7 group managing director Gavin Hughes said the brand’s bold visual identity and atmosphere promises endless entertainment for everything from friends get-togethers and date nights to family trips.

Mr Hughes said: “Lane7 is all about creating all your best nights - the kind of place where everyone can let loose, have fun and leave with a story. Leeds has the energy we thrive on, and Trinity is right in the thick of it. Expect music, colour, buzz and big vibes from the moment we open.”

The Leeds site is planned to open in the first quarter of 2026 and comes as the business prepares for several openings this year. It recently opened new sites in Dublin city centre and in Milton Keynes, while two new sites are also set to open in Newcastle in June and July, including a brand-new concept, ML7.

The company is also planning to open a purpose-built venue in Cambridge next year.

The venue is set to form part of the Lion Yard redevelopment by landlord Barclays Bank and it will be built from scratch with feature activities including ten-pin bowling, pool, private karaoke, darts, arcade games and beer pong.

Mr Hughes added: “Cambridge has been on our radar for a while. It’s a city that deserves a social space with serious attitude – and that’s exactly what we’re building. This isn’t a quick fit-out; we’re designing every inch from the ground up to make it unmistakably Lane7. Lion Yard is a prime spot, and with Barclays Bank backing the build, we’re creating something big.”
