A South West hotel group has acquired the Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa in Warminster in a £5.5m deal, creating around 30 new jobs.
Bath-based boutique hotelier Kaleidoscope Collection will open the third hotel in its portfolio on July 1. The group also operates the Homewood hotel and spa and The Bird, both in Bath.
The 32-room historic country house, situated close to Stonehenge and Salisbury Plain, will cater for weddings of up to 40 guests and offer spa and wellness facilities.

Kaleidoscope Collection owners, Ian and Christa Taylor, are expecting to transform the décor of the hotel and its bar and terrace in a style similar to their previous projects, which combine abstract patterns and features with fine art.
The company is also hoping to make use of the hotel’s outdoor space, set within 27 acres of countryside alongside the River Wylye.
The business is currently recruiting for a variety of roles including restaurant, kitchen, bar and spa staff. It is also looking to work with local traders, suppliers and artists across from the South West on its new venture.

Co-owner Ian Taylor said: “The hospitality sector has arguably been hit harder than any other both within the local and national economy. But it has the potential to bounce back stronger than ever before.

“We understand that there was significant interest in Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa from investors both in terms of its prestigious heritage and historic grounds, and a spike in the staycation market as a direct consequence of the pandemic.”
The sale was handled by estate agency Knight Frank’s hotels team.
