Birmingham apartment complex tops out

Lancaster Wharf in city's Gun Quarter will contain more than 250 apartments across 23 storeys

Select Property holds a topping out ceremony for its Lancaster Wharf project in Princip Street, Birmingham, to mark the 23-storey project reaching its highest point (24 Feb 2025)

A new residential development in Birmingham has topped out.

Developer, operator and investor Select Property is leading the Lancaster Wharf project which it says will be completed by the end of this year.

The 23-storey project, in Princip Street in the city's Gun Quarter, will have 266 apartments to rent, a rooftop garden, private co-working spaces and a gym.

The property, to be run under Select's Affinity Living brand, will be supported by Select Residential, an in-house letting business established by the developer last year.

Adam Price, chief executive of Select Property, said: "We've long held the ambition to expand our Affinity Living proposition into Birmingham and the speed at which the market has responded to Lancaster Wharf has only strengthened that view.

"We've seen from the success of Affinity Living to date that residents, particularly young professionals, value not just high-quality homes but being part of a broader community.

"It's heartening to see Birmingham's burgeoning professional population sharing in that approach and we look forward to welcoming our first residents in the not-too-distant future."
