A key step in the construction of a new business hub within the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone has taken place.

Representatives of Team Lincolnshire Ambassadors R G Carter Construction - the lead contractor on the building - met with Lincolnshire County Council’s director of place Andy Gutherson this month for a formal steel signing ceremony.

Team Lincolnshire is a partnership set up to bring inward investment into the county.

The multi-use space will provide small and medium-sized business tenants with support services, networking, meeting and events space and catering - and help nurture collaboration between businesses and partners in agri-tech industries.

The broader enterprise zone, which is in Holbeach between Spalding and Kings Lynn, is being delivered by a partnership made up of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Lincolnshire County Council, South Holland District Council and the University of Lincoln.

Core Architects is the leading design team for the cluster hub which is being funded by Lincolnshire County Council and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership through the Government's 'Getting Building Fund' (GBF).

Work started on the hub building this spring, with a view to completion in early 2022.

This summer saw progress in the construction, including the arrival of 100 tonnes of steel.
