Bibby Line Group's old Duke Street HQ - which has now been sold

Bibby Line Group has completed the sale of its former HQ office building on Duke Street in Liverpool for an undisclosed sum ahead of its move to an iconic location in the heart of the city's commercial district.

The global business group, which has been in Liverpool for over 200 years, announced in September it will be relocating its 150 employees to Walker House at Exchange Flags, after having been based at Duke Street for over 25 years.

The 57,000sq ft building has been sold to developer CERT Property Group.

John Cresswell, CEO of Bibby Line Group, said: “Duke Street has served us well over the last 25 years but relocating to Exchange Flags brings us closer to the centre of the business community and provides our fantastic team with a new, modern working environment, better equipped for the needs of current and future colleagues and customers.”

Bibby Line Group describes itself as a diverse, £800m-turnover business, operating in 16 countries and employing 4,000 people in retail, financial services, distribution, marine and construction equipment hire.

One of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s oldest family-owned businesses, it has over 200 years’ experience of providing personal, responsive and flexible customer solutions.

Howard Lord, managing director of CERT said: "We are delighted to have acquired this beautiful historic property from Bibby Line Group. Our intention is to create a contemporary working environment for businesses of all sizes whilst celebrating the building's stunning heritage features.

"We will be working in collaboration with a fantastic delivery team and look forward to releasing more details of our plans in due course."
