A commercial property agent has said that the amount of speculative development currently taking place in Derby indicates the level of confidence there is in the city’s industrial market.

According to FHP Property Consultants, there are a number of Derby industrial schemes being built, or in the pipeline, to suit businesses of all sizes.

At the larger end of the spectrum, Panattoni is nearing completion on the construction of a vast 370,000 sq ft distribution unit at Derby Commercial Park.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale, CWC Group is due to start on site next month offering buildings from 2,500 sq ft to 7,700 sq ft either to rent or buy at Crown Park, in Parcel Terrace.

Situated off Uttoxeter Old Road, near Buildbase, the development will total some 30,000 sq ft of space. FHP has said it will soon be releasing further details about the development, which is due to be completed by December.

Located next to Rolls-Royce’s civil aerospace division, at Sinfin, FHP is currently marketing the final phase of the Victory Park scheme.

A sale has already been agreed on one unit, with a further two being offered either for sale or to let and due to be completed in January 2020.

Elsewhere in the city, planning applications have been submitted for mid size boxes at Derwent Triangle and Megaloughton Lane.

Tim Richardson, from FHP Property Consultants, said: “We have completed several lettings of modern space in the Derby area in recent months, including units totalling around 35,000 sq ft at Raynesway Park, several units on Osmaston Park Industrial Estate and further lettings agreed at West Meadows and surrounding areas resulting in there being little availability of existing industrial space in Derby.
