Affordable housing scheme in Coventry gets the green light

Coventry-based construction firm Deeley Group is building the development on a former school site

Planned layout of the Tiverton Road site where 39 affordable homes are to be built

Plans for an affordable housing scheme in Coventry comprising 39 homes has been given the green light.

The development will take place on a former school site n the Wyken area of the city.

The site in Teverton Road was formerly the home of two schools - Dartmouth School and the Seva School.

The Seva School moved to a new home in Walsgrave in September 2015 and since then the site has been vacant.

Planning permission has been granted by Coventry City Council for 23 affordable rented and 16 shared ownership properties.

Construction work is to be carried out by Coventry-based family firm Deeley Group for housing provider Stonewater.

The site was originally purchased from Coventry City Council and upon completion will feature 39 brand-new homes comprising a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Stonewater and Deeley Group previously worked together on the development of another affordable development at Feather Lane in Nuneaton, which completed earlier this year.
