Properties owned by the former boss of motorcycle manufacturer Norton have been put up for sale by administrators.

Agents Sanderson Weatherall has been appointed by BDO to market the portfolio of Donington Hall Estates.

It was appointed as administrators of Donington Hall Estates and Norton towards the end of January.

Norton, which is currently based at the Donington Hall site, in Leicestershire, has since been sold to Indian motorcycle maker TVS Motor Company – and now BDO is looking to offload the properties.

The portfolio includes Donington Hall, the Priest House Hotel (which has recently been operated by Legacy Hotels since going into administration), Hastings House, The Lansdowne Buildings and Kings Mills Caravan Park, all set in more than 80 acres.

According to Sanderson Weatherall, which is marketing the entire portfolio with a guide price of just over £13 million, there is planning consent in place for a substantial extension to Priest House Hotel in addition to a development of woodland lodges within the grounds.

Tim Simmons, who is a partner at Sanderson Weatherall, said: “This is a truly unique portfolio offering the opportunity to acquire a landmark building with a rich history in the heart of the Donington Park Estate.

“Offers will be considered for individual buildings and we are already receiving exceptional interest from both domestic and international buyers.
