A construction consultancy has acquired a West Midlands rival.

Pulse Consult has bought out Warwickshire-based Tandem Projects in an undisclosed deal as part of the former's plans to strengthen its presence in the West Midlands and South West markets.

All of Tandem Projects' employees have been retained, with director Graham Black joining the Pulse Consult board.

The team currently based in Newbold on Stour, near Stratford, will relocate to Pulse Consult's Birmingham office which itself has recently relocated to Louisa Ryland House, in Newhall Street.

Both agencies offer services such as project management, quantity surveying and contract management.

Pulse Consult, which also has offices in London, Bristol and the East Midlands, said headcount grew by 32 per cent last year, including adding a head of finance and head of marketing to its senior leadership team.

Managing director Ian Carey said: "Having witnessed first-hand how the Tandem team collaborate with each other and their clients, it's clear that we share the same ethos.
