Developers are planning to build hundreds homes on land north of Cribbs Causeway, near Bristol.

Taylor Wimpey Bristol and Bellway South West recently acquired the site, which is accessed from the A4018, for an undisclosed sum and will each build around 380 homes following a Reserved Matters planning application.

Taylor Wimpey’s new development, Berwick Green, will include variety of properties in various styles and sizes.

The land deal signals the biggest ever acquisition by Bellway’s South West division. Around 25% of the homes in the development will be affordable.

Lucy Lockhart, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said: “Acquiring this land marks an exciting step forward for Taylor Wimpey and demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-quality new-build properties in South Gloucestershire.

“We’re looking forward to progressing our plans and will continue to work with the local community to provide a development which future residents are proud to call home.”

As part of delivering the development, the developers said they would make contributions of more than £12.5m to services, highway works and education in the Patchway community.
