70 jobs to be created as Euronics takes on new 125,000 sq ft South Yorkshire distribution site

Independent electrical buying group takes on speculative Barnsley development

Maple 125 by Junction 36 of the M1 in South Yorkshire.

A 125,000 sq ft warehouse unit on the M1 corridor at Barnsley has been bought, with 70 jobs to be created by leading electrical buying organisation Euronics.

Bramall Properties brought forward Maple 125, a speculative development at Junction 36, in conjunction with Rula Developments and with the support of Enterprising Barnsley.

Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd, the national group of independent retailers behind the Euronics brand, will now put it at the heart of the European distribution network.

Steve Scogings, chairman, said: “This is a significant investment for CIH on behalf of its members, but one that we are confident that it will be worth its weight in gold.

“It gives us exactly what we need as a business. We now have access to purpose-built, high-quality space in the right location to buy and hold more stock of our key product lines. This will help CIH members serve their customers in the right way, with speed, efficiency and to the highest possible standard.”

Described as being finished to a high specification, it features 12m eaves, a 50m yard, 12 dock level loading doors, two ground level loading doors, 23 HGV spaces, 80 car parking spaces, fitted office accommodation and up to 1MVA power supply.

Jonathan Duck, of Bramall Properties, said: “Maple 125 is a prominent, high quality warehouse/manufacturing unit, in the highly sought-after 100,000 sq ft plus range, in an excellent central national location.
