A second phase of a Barnsley business park is emerging as part of a £5.25m million investment in the town.

Developer Carnell Management Services is on site now with two units bringing forward a further 45,000 sq ft of industrial and warehouse accommodation.

It is hoped a further 105 jobs could be created alongside 15 units already completed at Nexus Business Park, Dodworth.

Forming part of the Capitol Park development to the south west of the town, it takes the firm’s investment in the area to £11 million.

The two new units are set to be finished this summer with agents expecting good interest.

It is partly funded through the European Regional Development Fund, backed by Northern Powerhouse.

Paul Carnell, director at CMS, said: “We are committed to creating development opportunities which will enhance the employment aspirations in the borough.

“The first phase of Nexus has been a successful scheme, bringing many new jobs to the region, and we are delighted to offer the latest speculative units to the market. This has been made possible by us accessing £1,245,000 from the ERDF to help kickstart this project.”
