A CGI of how the Eden office building will look

The environmental credentials of a £36m landmark building being constructed in Salford have been outlined ahead of its expected completion next year.

The corner of Irwell Street and Stanley Street is currently being transformed into the 12-storey building which will feature 115,000 sq ft of office space as well as Europe’s biggest living wall.

Eden is being developed by The English Cities Fund, a joint venture between national regeneration firm, Muse, Legal & General and Homes England.

The building’s living wall will be adorned with 350,000 plants that are currently growing off-site and will also feature bug hotels, bird nesting boxes and feeders, all focused on attracting pollinators and encouraging biodiversity.

Six months on from starting on site, the external steel framework for the building is well underway, glazing will soon start and the preparatory work for the utilities connections is now complete.

Emma Payne, project manager for ECF, the development partnership behind Eden, said: "It’s exciting to see the building taking shape.
