A £2 million serviced apartment block aimed at corporate and leisure guests will open in Nottingham next month.
The Stay Company has completed work on Whitefriars House, in Friar Lane, transforming three levels of the four-storey building into 17 open plan studios, and one and two bedroomed apartments.
The development, close to Nottingham’s Old Market Square, added an additional floor with an architect-designed roof extension and retains the original art-deco windows and doors.
The company said the apartments offer space for corporate clients looking for extended stays in Nottingham and leisure travellers who want self-contained, flexible accommodation for shopping and theatre visits.
Dan Wilkinson – a director at The Stay Company, which has its headquarters and further accommodation in Friar Gate, Derby – said he was proud of what they had achieved at the Nottingham site.
He said: “The developers, designers and structural engineers have elegantly extended the rooftop of Whitefriars House, to deliver 17 spacious and luxurious apartments of the highest quality.
“Whitefriars House can now welcome clients to Nottingham and enjoy everything this city has to offer.
“It has been hugely rewarding to watch it take shape and we believe its city-centre location will be a real bonus for guests. Whether it is for business or pleasure, Whitefriars House will deliver a little bit of luxury to the city centre.

“It is also an added investment to The Stay Company’s growing portfolio. In fact, a planning application for our next development in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, is already at an advanced stage.”
The work was carried out by Derby property developer PKL Investments and takes the total number of serviced apartments owned by The Stay Company to almost 100 across the East Midlands.
