A holiday barn and wedding venue in the Peak District has gone on the market with a £1.5 million guide price. Business property adviser Christie & Co has been instructed to market the site which includes a one bedroom cottage in a small village, a couple of miles east of Buxton in Derbyshire.
According to the agents the seven bedroom barn conversion sleeps 24 while the wedding barn has room for 100 guests and includes a bar and games room. The agent's details say it brings in an annual income of around £160,000 and annual profits of more than £75,000.
The site, covering less than an acre, is located off the A623 in the hamlet of Wardlow Mires, not far from tourist attractions such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.

The holiday barn was derelict when purchased 20 years ago, has been renovated by the owner. It has exposed beams and stone walls throughout, an open plan lounge, dining space and kitchen area.
Owners Mark and Marie Stirgess are selling to focus on other business ventures.
Gavin Webb, associate director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale, said: “Properties such as the Peak District Holiday Barn don’t come to the market very often.
“The current owners have done an amazing job of growing the business into a popular holiday rental and burgeoning weddings business, however there is still plenty of scope for the new owner to put their mark on the property, such as further developing the weddings part of the business.
“Additionally, the separate cottage could be converted to owner’s accommodation (subject to planning), making it ideal for an owner operator.
“Given its location and the ongoing buoyancy of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ staycation market, we don’t expect the business to remain on the market for long.”
