A vacant site in Birmingham's suburbs could be transformed into a new £45 million housing development.
Wavensmere Homes has lodged plans to convert 3.4 acres of land in Edgbaston into 165 new houses and apartments.
The Clarendon Suites site, off Clarendon Road and Hagley Road, has lain vacant for more than a decade.

A total of 75 three-bedroom townhouses and 90 apartments are proposed alongside both public and private space with a children’s play area.
Wavensmere said three distinct 'character zones' would be created should the scheme receive the city's backing.

The first draws reference from the traditional housing along Clarendon Road while a central zone will have more unique, contemporary housing styles.
The third will have a six-storey apartment building fronting onto Hagley Road.

Vehicular access to the site will be from Stirling Road while trees will be retained along Hagley Road, with additional planting and biodiversity net gains.
James Dickens, managing director of Edgbaston-based Wavensmere Homes, said: “Having seen this prominent site lay vacant for so long, we are very pleased to lodge our detailed planning application which has the support of local people and stakeholders and is commercially viable to deliver.
“We have been working alongside officers from Birmingham City Council on the collective approach and housing requirements for Clarendon since the start of the year.
"While there is no scarcity of recent development along Hagley Road so many sectors are not currently catered for."
Opened in 1971, Clarendon Suites was designed by the legendary Birmingham architect John Madin and was operated by the Warwickshire Masonic Brethren until its closure in 2014.
It staged conferences, exhibitions and banquets and was used as the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire Masons.
