Plans have been lodged to convert a former Black Country office block into dozens of new apartments.
The scheme at Transport House, in West Bromwich, would see an additional two storeys added to the former trade union building as it is converted into 45 one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Consent is already in place to create 37 units but this new application will enable developers to build a further eight apartments in the extension, should Sandwell Council planning chiefs back the scheme.
Proposals for the £5 million project, to be called 'Transport Works', were first revealed in March when it was announced that Birmingham-based developer Detail had been appointed as manager of the scheme in Victoria Street.
The building, which was once home to the Transport and General Workers union, was placed on the market with a £1 million price tag nearly two years ago and was acquired by HCT Homes in January.

The firm has formed a joint venture team with Bramham Properties to carry out the regeneration of the 15,121 sq ft block which is close to the town centre and a short walk to the Metro line.
Work is expected to be completed next year.
