Digbeth Heights will be built on a brownfield site previously occupied by the Shepherd's Rest pub

A new £20 million development of apartments in Birmingham has been given the green light.

Developer Home Nation is behind the scheme in Digbeth which will see 78 apartments built in a block reaching eight storeys and which will be called Digbeth Heights.

The brownfield development site is at the corner of Bradford Street and Moseley Road which once housed the Shepherd's Rest pub.

As well as a concierge, there will be amenity space for residentials including landscaped courtyard and communal rooftop areas with glazed screening.

The apartments will range from one to three bedrooms and eight units will be classed as affordable housing.

The development site is within walking distance of the new HS2 terminus in Curzon Street and the new West Midlands Metro extension south of the city centre.
