Digbeth Dining Club signs up for new Birmingham venue

Team behind popular street food events has struck a deal with St Modwen to run a new year-round venue

CGI of plans for Herbert's Yard in Longbridge

The events team behind a former outdoor food venue in Birmingham has agreed to run a new culinary site in the south of the city.

Digbeth Dining Club used to host a range of street food vendors in the district and became a fixture of the city's social scene until it announced at the site in Lower Trinity Street.

The management team has now struck a deal with property group St Modwen to run a new year-round site called Herbert's Yard in Longbridge town centre.

It will have an events space with seating for up to 200 people, located opposite the recently extended Austin Park, and also offer indoor and outdoor space for a wide range of corporate and community uses.

A café and deli will be open daily while a selection of independent food operators will be based there from Thursday to Sunday.

Digbeth Dining Club will also be working alongside St Modwen to put together a calendar of monthly events such as farmers' markets, Oktoberfest celebrations and a Christmas fair.

As part of the agreement, space at Herbert's Yard will be available to hire for local community groups and parties for a minimum of 25 hours a week.
